If you didn't know, my name is Mike Alley and I live in a small town in Southern Michigan. As you can see, I’m a graphic/web designer. All of the skills and knowlege I have are self-taught or learned breifly from other's. I am 17 and I am currently a Sophmore in high school. I have experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Flash MX, Dreamweaver, and Notepad :P. |

When I'm not at school, sleeping, or eating I often get bored and I have some sort of hobby I enjoy doing. Some of my interesting hobbies can be found below.

Mike Designs first started off as a little website known as Mikes Site. I first started to get into website designs with a host named freewebs. I first started the site to sell some junk of mine when I got bored.
Well I never sold anything and I quickly got bored with my site so I started to try to expand my site when I saw what other sites were doing and I thought it was really cool. So I added some games and some pictures of misc. stuff and a chat room and then I became fully interested in website making.
I one day got tired of using the same old boring templates that came default with freewebs, so I started to experiment with downloadable templates off of www.zymic.com . And I switched to Expert Mode on my freewebs account. And I also made another site made for viewing on a PSP, and amazingly it can still be viewed here.
My new site, with my zymic template was going really good, I had a cool green template and nice looking pages throughout my site. But something was missing......that thing was PHP. I never really knew exactly what it was so I read up on it and decided that I needed it. I was looking for a cool host that had PHP and I came upon Neoboffins Hosting.
After I was able to use PHP my creativity was limitless. I started off with a new template on my new host, and I modified my template fully for the first time. I started using CuteNews, and a affiliates script and it expanded to a contact form, a topsites, and many other things. Then my two site after those were really nothing to be too proud of, using a CMS (Content Management System) so I won't even go into those, After that my site became Mike Designs and I bought my first domain www.mike-designs.com . And that's pretty much where we are today. |
